Today is a first. The first filled tube was seen in Condo #1 today.
Of course, the tube turned out to be a bamboo tube. Most tubes observed being occupied were bamboo but I did see a few paper tubes being visited.
Some people who sell rolled cardboard tubes say bamboo is no good.
Well, it is not difficult to tear apart the bamboo tubes at the end of the season. Yes, it is a pain. But tearing apart the tubes is essential. You can easily identify the parasites and kill them. Then you wash the cocoons in a very diluted solution of fresh water and bleach.
