The tubes are almost all filled.
When I say almost all, I mean only bamboo and paper. Only one
of the routed-wood-tray tubes was filled.
Despite the great recommendations, I don't think the bees like the
routed-wood-tray tubes.
Bees are voting with their wings.
Mason-bees are one of the groups of native bees.
When midsummer is in full swing, the most common bee in my yard are the bumblebees.

Today I am declaring war on Houdini flies.
I am going to fight them with the hand held vacuum.

May 12, 2020 Houdini flies are invading my mason bee condos
My bees are doing fine, except for the nasty Houdini flies. See article at bottom page.
To date my spoiled little bees are still choosing my expensive black bamboo tubes over the options.
Occasionally, they choose a paper or cardboard tube. On one occasion, a bee filled up a routed wood tray tube.
What can I say ?!? They are picky, picky, picky.
Both condos appear to be approaching 80 percent occupancy.
I am like the king of bees. I watch over them.
I am going to start trying to kill the nasty Houdini fly. Such despicable insect !
I see tiny flies flying around the condos. The appear the size of fruit flies.
Hope they are not some kind of parasite. They are not a hymenoptera, look like a small diptera.
NUTS ! ! ! !
